CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Moksha (90 minute) - The Moksha yoga series - 40 postures practiced in a heated room - works to stretch, strengthen and tone the muscles while detoxifying the body and calming the mind.

Moksha (60 minute) - The Moksha yoga series, shortened to one hour. Each pose is practiced only once.

Moksha Flow -  Combines the regular Moksha series with Sun Salutations; 60 minutes in length.

Moksha Level 2 - For those students who have practiced the Moksha series for at least 20 classes, the Level 2 classes are a venue for students to challenge their practice. The regular Moksha series acts as a frame for the class, while new and more advanced postures give the class a new and exciting flavour. Each Level 2 instructor adds their own flare, thus no two Level 2 classes will be the same. Expect longer holds, more meditation, increased breath work, advanced concepts and a great way to shake up your practice. Not suited for beginners.

Karma Class (Friday night, 8:30pm by donation - min $5)
The regular Moksha series practiced in one hour. All proceeds go to a different charity each month. An affordable class for someone looking to see what this "yoga thing" is all about. No passes.

Karma Class - Ashtanga/Vinyasa Flow (Friday night, 8:30pm by donation - min $5)
Vinyasa/Ashtanga Flow in a non heated room. This is a creative, progressive, full spectrum sequences linked together through the breathwave

Community Class - Either a 60 or 90 minute Moksha class taught by a recent graduate from the Moksha Yoga teacher training program. All classes are $5.00 and are a great opportunity for students and teachers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. Feedback for the learning teacher is encouraged!

Economy classes are offered on Tuesdays at 4:30 pm and Wednesdays at 8:30pm. 90 & 60 minutes Moksha class. Cost $7.00. (Members are free to use their packages). Making yoga accessible to everyone!

YIN Yoga - Gentle yoga with long holds designed to stretch through deeper muscle tissue and fascia. All poses are practiced on the floor. Suitable for all levels

Ashtanga - Ashtanga is a progressive heat building practice that focuses on strength, concentration and flexibility. The Ashtanga system of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with purposeful movement in order to purify and strengthen the body and mind.

Moksha/Vinyasa Flow - Is a combination of the static hold of a Moksha pose with the synchronized dance movement of the vinyasa flow. Vinyasa Flow is known as a "breath synchronized movement" the instructor will move from one pose to the next on an inhale or on an exhale.

Meditation - If you enjoy savasana at the end of your yoga class, then our meditation class will benefit you. This one hour workshop will guide you through breathing techniques and visualization with the focus on objects and sounds of music.

Therapeutic Yoga - Several things set therapeutic yoga aside from other yoga discipline.  The first is that it is highly flexible, as it must be, to accommodate the needs of patients with different conditions and physical abilities.  Therapeutic yoga is very gentle, acknowledging that participants are not experienced in the practice of yoga and they may not be prepared for the physical strain of intense yoga practice.  This style of yoga typically include deep stretching, guided meditation. and breath work.  It can be integrated  into physical therapy regimens, the practice of nursing, and other aspects of health care  it is particularly beneficial for seniors to keep their limps flexible.  Yoga helps patients to relax while strengthening their bodies and spirits, whether they are in recovery from an illness or injury or preparing for major surgery.
